After the giddy excitement of Christmas Day, maybe the kiddos could use some time out of the house (and you, too?) Our two-day Winter Wonders program is just what you and the kids need!

On Friday and Saturday, Dec. 27-28 from 1-4 p.m. each day, Winter Wonders will explore two winter topics: Why is it Cold? and Snowstorms!

On Friday, participants will learn why the temperatures drop during the winter season, why it’s colder some years than others, and what affect those cold temperatures have on our weather. On Saturday, we’ll plunge into the world of snowstorms to learn what causes them, where they most frequently happen and where some of the worst snowstorms in history took place.

On both days, the kids will explore the topics through activities, interactive learning and crafts. They’ll also have free time on the exhibits and a snack.

These programs are best for children in grades kindergarten through sixth. The cost is $10 for one day or $18 for both days. Pre-registration is helpful, but walk-ins are welcome. 814-938-1000 or info@weatherdiscovery.org.
