The Weather Discovery Center crowned the 2024 Little Mr. and Miss Groundhog on Saturday January 27. Punxsutawney Groundhog Club members including the Club President Shingle Shaker Tom Dunkel, Downpour Rob McCoy, and Punxsutawney Phil’s handler, Rainmaker Mr. A.J. Dereume were on hand for the ceremony.
The 2024 Little Mr. Groundhog is Merritt Weaver, age 5. He is a student at Punxsutawney Area Elementary School. His parents are Reggie and Amy Weaver. Congratulations Merritt!
The 2024 Little Miss Groundhog is Cecelia Behrendt, age 6. She is a student at SSCD Elementary School. Her parents are Allan and Amanda Behrendt. Congratulations Cecelia!
The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center would like to thank the families and friends of our contestants who voted and contributed to our educational mission. The monies will support our educational programs and events. We would also like to thank Katie Laska for her outstanding support of this event, and for hosting the voting in her restaurant.
