Voting is now underway in the Little Mr. and Miss Groundhog Contest. The annual contest selects a kindergarten boy and girl to reign as Little Mr. and Miss Groundhog for the year of 2022.
Voting is taking place at Laska’s Pizza, 405 North Main St., Punxsutawney from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily, except for Tuesdays when the restaurant is closed. The contestants names and photos are on display along with a canister for each. Votes are $1 each and can be cast with cash at the restaurant or called into to the Weather Discovery Center with a credit card (MC, VISA, DISC). Voting will continue through Thursday, Jan. 27 at 4 p.m. The winners will be notified by telephone that evening.
The crowning of Little Mr. and Miss Groundhog will take place on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. in the lobby of the Weather Discovery Center. The winners will each receive a $50 gift card and a gift bag. All contestants receive complimentary passes to the Weather Discovery Center.
The Little Mr. and Miss Groundhog Contest is a fundraiser for the Weather Discovery Center, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit. Proceeds benefit its educational programs and content.
