On Saturday, November 27th, The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center is partnering with the Mahoning Valley Ballet to offer a Meet and Greet (and more) program. Children will say hello to the ballerinas starring in the upcoming “Journey to the Land of Sweets” Nutcracker performance sponsored by Van Dyke & Co., get a chance to view their beautiful costumes up close and have several photo opportunities (don’t forget your camera).
The program also includes a make and take craft (Sugar Plum Fairy Wand), a mini scavenger hunt through our exhibits, and a live dance demonstration and dance along. Children will receive a “Land of Sweets” Treat for their journey home. The recommended age for participating is three to nine years old, however all ages are welcome. For some optional fun, come dressed up in holiday attire or a dance/princess costume.
Families can choose from two different time slots to attend (Session #1 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or Session #2 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.). The cost of the Meet and Greet is $15.00 per child which includes one free parent/adult who must accompany their child/ren throughout the program. An additional adult admission is $5.00 per person. Sessions are limited to 15 children. Day of event walk-ins are welcome only if spots are still available.
