A special day for Girl Scouts has been added to the program schedule at the Weather Discover Center. Get Outdoors Challenge Day – Winter 2022 will take place on Saturday, Jan. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Girl Scouts of all levels can participate in this Challenge day and check 12 of the required activities off their list! Here’s what you’ll do:
- Draw a winter wonderland picture
- Make a winter-themed SWAP
- Learn about winter traditions & celebrations around the world
- Learn about frostbite & hypothermia
- Learn how a snowflake forms
- Identify winter constellations
- Walk in a park
- Walk through a neighborhood
- Build a campfire
- Drink hot chocolate
- Toast marshmallows
- Identify winter greenery
Pre-registration is required no later than Thurs., Dec. 23. A minimum of 20 girls must be registered for the program to be held. Maximum number is 30. Call 814-938-1000 or e-mail info@weatherdiscovery.org.
