PUNXSUTAWNEY—March 16 -20 is the Week of Giving in Punxsutawney and the Weather Discovery Center is taking part beginning with Free Admission Saturday on March 14!

Organized by the Punxsutawney Area Community Foundation in conjunction with Bridge Builders Community Foundations (BBCF), the Week of Giving highlights charitable organizations in the local area and encourages people to do their annual donating during this five-day period. Why? Because all donations given during the time period receive a percentage match by Week of Giving sponsor Northwest Bank. In other words, your donations are worth more to the organization(s) you support when you give between March 16-02.

To kick off the Week of Giving at the Weather Discovery Center, Saturday, March 14 will be Free Admission Saturday.  On that day, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., come and explore what we offer, learn more about what we do, see our historic 1914 former post office, and hear our plans for the future. If you’ve never been into the Weather Discovery Center—March 14 is your opportunity to visit at no charge. If it’s been awhile since you’ve visited, come in to see what’s new—at no charge.

When you visit us on Free Admission Saturday, we hope you like what you see and will consider supporting our mission of educating about the science and folklore of weather to all ages using technology, science, history and folklore. During the Week of Giving, you can go online to make your contribution at bbcfgives.org any time before midnight on March 20.

The board of directors and staff at the Weather Discovery Center appreciate all levels of support and hope to see you at Free Admission Saturday!
