Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center Summer Camp will be held on July 10, July 17, and July 24 from 10:00 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Registration is required for this event. This year’s topics include:
Session 1: July 10 Ice Cold :
Participants will learn about endothermic and chemical reactions, the melting point of water, and will become ice investigators during this really COOL session.
Session 2: July 17 Splish Splash:
Participants will have a hands on learning experience while finding out how water can exist as a solid, liquid, or gas. They will also learn what happens if we mix water with other liquids. By the end of this session everyone will be a water cycle expert- and most likely will be involved in a water balloon battle!
Session 3: July 24 Hazy, Hot, and Humid:
During this session, participants will explore the different effects heat can have on our bodies as well as the world around us. They will also learn how humidity can make a hot day feel even hotter and fun way to keep cool during the summer heat!
Summer Camp runs from 10:00-12:30. Attendees may be dropped off at the center and then picked up at the end of each session. The cost is $15 a session or all 3 for $40. Camp is best suited for children who have completed kindergarten through 6th grade. Snack and free time on the exhibits is included in the entry fee.
Registration is required as space is limited and camps often sell out. You can register your child today by calling 814-938-1000 or emailing educator@weatherdiscovery.org.
